A cashier's check, also known as a bank check or officer's check, is a check guaranteed by a bank, drawn on the bank's own funds and signed by a cashier or other bank officer. It is considered more secure than a personal check. A certified check, on the other hand, is a personal check that has been guaranteed by the bank on which it is drawn, certifying that the funds are available. Both are used for large payments where security is a concern, but a cashier's check is drawn on bank funds, while a certified check guarantees personal funds.
